However, after a promise is broken, their parents disappear. Alone and embittered by all that has transpired, the two decide to dedicate their lives to finding their parents. However, fate plays a cruel trick on their hopes, and the moment they set foot in the world of Teyvat, the siblings once again experience a tragedy in their lives.

Aether looked at his reflection, feeling a warmth spread through him. He turned to her, a smile on his lips. "Perfect," he said softly.
Arlecchino reached out, her hand gently cupping his cheek. "Je suis heureuse que tu l'apprécie," she replied, her voice tender. "I hope I didn't apply the lipstick too lightly."
A soft laugh escaped Aether, his lips still curved upwards. "I'm not sure. I guess we'll have to test it more thoroughly," he teased, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
