Summary
A cloud of purple smoke engulfed the area, a figure sitting in the middle. The ground around him was scorched, the dirt burnt in a familiar eye pattern. It was the pattern the book had Martyn engrave in the dirt.
The figure stands, coughing as he also puts a hand to his head. He steps out of the cloud of smoke, his red hoodie littered with dirt and sand. Around his shoulders hung a black, leather jacket, spikes coming out the shoulders and cuffs. He had a pair of sunglasses above his eyes, almost like a biker dude. Whatever that was.
The man has brown, fluffy hair, currently also littered with dirt and sticks. He was quite short, but that wasn't really the features that stood out to Scott. What really spoke to him was the massive, feathery wings that clings to his back, its color quickly turning from purple to red and white and yellow. His brown eyes have hints of purple in them, quickly dissapating as the man makes his way over to them, a startled yet relieved smile on his face.
OR: Martyn finds a weird book, and there may or may not be a crossover hehehe

Legs meets the duke after definitely finding out he’s corrupted. He tries to stop him, he really does, but there’s only so much he can do to stop a possessed creature. Especially at this level.

Scott turned away, trying to brush it off, although Pyro knew it unnerved him. Scott’s forehead was wrinkled from worry, and his shoulders tensed. Pyro shook their head, trying to dismiss it as the conversation continued.

Summary
After Olsted's betrayal and the destruction of Thistle Hill, a 17-year-old Legs blindly runs north. He expected to die in the snow, but is rescued by a beautiful man with impossibly gentle lilac eyes. With nowhere else to go, Legs tentatively accepts Scott Boralith's offer to live in Tegrith.
For Legs, who has spent his entire life being an unwanted and mistreated burden, Tegrith and its welcoming community is a miracle. Legs desperately tries to help where he can, to make up for his past crimes, but it never feels enough.
(Especially as he realizes his growing feelings for a certain someone...)
And yet, between Scott's silent burdens, the threat of Corruption, and a lingering ghost named Pyro Dagmeare... Legs discovers that his savior may need him just as badly as he needs Scott.
AKA: An AU where Olsted's betrayal happens two years earlier and Legs ends up in Tegrith with Scott before the Dragon Riding Academy.
