Summary
His knees hurt from sitting on the tile; his head hurts from the nonstop pounding; his entire body is sweating profusely while also feeling as though it’s about to freeze to death. He sheds his dress shirt and tie before stumbling through the doorway to the bed and collapsing, curling up into a ball. The uncomfortable feeling of his sheets touching skin is reviling, but overpowered by the sheer fatigue dragging his soul down.
Akechi falls asleep to the sound of his own heavy breathing. The messy, quiet apartment might as well be housing a corpse instead of a human being.
Or, Ren nursing Akechi back to health.

Summary
Six years after Kurusu Akira lost the Metaverse, lost Joker, lost the one aspect of his life that made him actually worth something, he’s getting by. He’d never be the one to say it’s perfect, but he has income, he has a roof over his head, he usually doesn’t have to worry about eating. And a good portion of his time is spent not thinking about the past, about dark eyes and auburn hair and leather gloves thrown to his chest.
Six and a half years after losing everything, Akechi Goro is alive. That’s the best he can say for himself. He has a job and a roof over his head and he keeps to himself. And, as always, a good portion of his time is spent ruminating on the past, on bright grins and dark curls and the sound of fists pounding on metal. As loathe as he is to admit it, what happened that year has had long term effects on his life, though he doubts he’ll ever get past them.
Fate is a funny thing. It can’t make you love someone. It can’t even necessarily keep both of you alive. But sometimes, it tries very, very hard to give you a chance. You just have to grasp it.

Summary
“I will marry you on a few conditions,” he begins as the others gasp. He hears Ann excited- ‘Oh I gotta record this!!’ which is probably for the better when they need actual proof of this- and even Akira, for once, is caught off guard. Seriously, it sometimes felt as if he had lost his charm of surprising him once in a while. “First- you need to win this chess match.”
“I will win this match and your heart,” Akira adds as he angles his neck up and presses his finger against his lip.
“-Second, we will divorce right after we finish meeting up with Shido. Third, you need to be the most annoying partner ever- which really shouldn’t be a problem for you, considering how you are.”
The man before him hums, gripping his chin with his index and thumb before shrugging. “I gotta add one more thing.”
Akechi crosses his arms, sighing in resignation. “What is it?”
“Can I propose to you as well if I win the match?”
After receiving the date of Masayoshi Shido's execution, Goro decides that he needs to visit him one last time. If only it meant closing that very chapter of his life that should have never started.
Meanwhile, Akira has some other plans.
