Summary
Viktor stares at Jayce, eyes angered, clutching the glass cologne bottle in his hands. It shatters under his grip, the shards falling to the floor around his feet, cold liquid dripping from his hands. Jayce's eyes are sad, his hands go up, as if to help, but Viktor bares his teeth at him, forcing Jayce to stop. "People need me now, Jayce." He spits the words out like bad whiskey, sour drink. "People want me. I am helping people, now. Like you promised we would." Viktor delights in the way Jayce's eyes go downcast, sad. "But I do not need you anymore. I can do this alone."
"Viktor," Jayce replies, his voice so soft it makes Viktor shudder, "you aren't helping people the way you think you are. You're selling yourself, you're hurting yourself-"
"My body is fine," Viktor hisses. "You are the one that made it, remember? My body is strong, now. Beautiful. People like what I am. What I can do. I am not hurt."
"No. I'm talking about your mind. Your soul. You're hurting yourself Viktor, and I can't-" he sighs. "I can't bear to watch it, anymore. Please."

Viktor makes a different choice when he leaves the lab. He has a new body, a strong one, healthy in a way.He might as well use it.

Summary
Jayce smiles and reaches out to place his hand on Viktor’s shoulder, just like he did that first day, standing in the explosion-torn remains of his old study—the day Viktor changed everything for him.
Clarity strikes Jayce all at once. He’s no different from the people in this commune, he realizes. Just like them, he was at his lowest point, pushed to the very edge of despair, until Viktor found him and gave him a life worth living. Maybe that’s why he belongs here—because, in his heart, he’s just as much a follower of Viktor as the rest of them.
“I already told you,” he says. “My place is with you."
Jayce joins Viktor in the commune. Everything is perfect, except he keeps having these dreams.
