Katsuki always knew something was off about Deku, from the way he stopped wringing his hands in their second year of middle school or from when it seemed their bullying no longer hurt. Something in the nerds eyes changed that year. But no where in a thousand years did Bakugo think the nerd would be sitting in his classroom after getting arrested.

Tsukauchi stares incredulously at him, and then looks at the iron bar that Izuku is currently straightening with his hands.
Midoriya Izuku does not let his lack of a Quirk prevent him from being strong.

But as teachers and students continued to gossip about his so-called weaknesses, he grew tired.
He didn’t want to believe that UA would be just like every other school, but the truth was right there in front of him.
He only had one job left to do.
Prove them wrong.

Midoriya Izuku has come too far to fail now. If he fails, all will be lost, and that can't happen.
But... there's a man in a tattered black outfit, with an all too big scarf hastily wrapped around his neck, and some very dry tired eyes. And he's sitting right across from Midoriya, asking far too many questions, and nothing makes sense.
Nothing except the cold metal against his wrists, that bites and binds him to an equally cold table. And that, that he understands very well. Defeat.
