Summary
When Mako starts dating Princess Ursa, the daughter of the Fire Lord; Wu helplessly stands by and watches as the man he loves gets swept away in a fairy tale romance. And when Wu enters into in a politically arranged betrothal with an Upper Ring noblewoman; obligations, friendship, and love are put to the test.
As Wu helps Mako fit in to Ursa's world, and Mako helps Wu with his complicated engagement, they each find themselves yearning for another life where they can be something more than friends to one another. They both have to decide whether to continue on with their duties, or risk it all and be honest with themselves—and each other.

Summary
Nearly a century after the last appearance of Sozin’s Comet, Fire Prince Zuko, freshly burned and banished by his father at the young age of thirteen, discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg.
When Admiral Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver his prisoner back to Royal Caldera City, to Zuko’s surprise, the young Avatar offers to help him and his uncle escape. They take refuge from the Fire Navy in the abandoned Air Temples, where Aang insists on searching for any remnants of his people that he can find. Along the way, the indoctrinated Fire Prince at last begins to learn the truth about the Air Nomads and the War, while the Dragon of the West is forced to face the sins of his warmongering past.
As the months go by, the two boys eventually form an unlikely friendship, and Zuko begins to experience confusing feelings that he has never felt for anyone before. However, Zhao will not give up easily, and will do whatever it takes to capture the Avatar and his traitorous accomplices.

Summary
The thing about soulmates when you are a royal is that you don't get to keep them. Wu's mother's was shipped to the Outer Ring. His father's, never spoken of. His great aunt's was imprisoned if you believe the rumors. Wu believes the rumors. And when Wu becomes Prince Wu, heir to the Earth Throne, over night, his chances of finding and keeping his soulmate drop to zero. But despite that, when a soulmark appears on his arm the very evening of meeting his new, hot, firebending bodyguard, Wu can't feel anything but joy.
The thing about soulmarks when you have a job that frequently leaves you bruised to hell and back is that sometimes you don't notice them until days later and now you don't know who caused them to appear. And the thing about being Prince Wu's newest bodyguard is that Mako has met so many people in the last week that his soulmate could be half of Republic City. The other thing about being Prince Wu's newest bodyguard is that half of Mako doesn't want to think too hard about his soulmate might be because there is no way someone like him would get so lucky as to have the next Earth Monarch as a soulmate no matter how lofty Mako's taste in people runs.
