“I have absolutely no need of any more favours from you!” Stiles poked him once in the chest. “We shouldn’t even be running into each other at all. Like I said, tracking device. You know that’s illegal, right?”
Derek crossed his arms over his chest, arching an eyebrow. “Who says I need a tracking device to find you? Maybe you’re just overly predictable. We are in your dad’s workplace, after all.”
“Hey, I haven’t come by here in like, two weeks at least. So you’re following me.” Stiles pointed his finger at him again, but couldn’t poke him in the chest since he’d crossed his arms. “You are a stalking stalker who stalks!”
“I thought I was a lying liar who lies.”
“You can be both!”

Summary
He takes the sandwich out of its container and is about to take the biggest bite out of it that the world’s ever seen when Stiles hears something. He doesn’t know what exactly he hears, whether it’s a strong gust of wind, a rustling of leaves, or the sounds of an animal. He doesn’t know, but whatever it is, it makes the hair at the back of his neck stand up in alert.
Looking around, he initially doesn’t see anything, not even a deer which, let's be honest, it probably was. This is the woods after all. Then, the second before he’s about to go back to his sandwich, he sees it.
It’s a fucking wolf.
Now there are two things running through Stiles’ mind at this moment. One, holy fucking shit I’m about to be mauled to death by a wolf, and two, why the hell is there a wolf in California?

“I’m not calming down until you call animal control! I fucking saw it! There were fucking wolves!”
“There are no wolves in California, Mr. Daehler,” the principal said, sounding exasperated, like this was the third time she’d said it to him.
“Well clearly there are!” he shouted back, showing such a lack of respect for the woman, Stiles had to applaud her for her fortitude not to smack him in the face.
“Perhaps you were mistaken,” she said calmly.
“No I wasn’t fucking mistaken,” Matt insisted, sounding incensed. “No way these were dogs, they were massive!”
For a second, Stiles felt like the world had slowed considerably as those words wormed their way into his brain. Because—he knew a dog that was massive. Honestly, he’d also brushed away the idea of the dog being a wolf because there were no wolves in California.
But... what if there were?
Holy shit, had Stiles literally spent his lunch break with a fucking wolf cuddled into his side while he pet it?! Good God, he was lucky to still have all his limbs!

He slowly tries to stand with shaking legs. He walks to the door with small and unsteady steps. A small whining sound straddles him and he presses his ear against the door to hear more. The sounds he hears are some quite growling and whining, he also hears scratching. Despite his fear, Stiles slowly opens the door.
He doesn’t believe his eyes. On his doorstep are two small wolf cubs staring at him with big round eyes.

Erica boxes Boyd and shakes her head. „Haven’t you heart? The white wolf will run with us today. Derek has invited him last week and he said he would love to join him on the run.“ She smirks in Dereks direction and it only grew wider when she sees him looking away and his slight pink ears.
