It's round and heavy, almost the size of his hand spread around it, and there's a little flicker of fear inside him that even his instincts can't stomp out.
This pup feels huge, and he's not even opening around it yet, and there are two more after this one to deliver. He's got no way of knowing if this first pup is the largest, or if the next one is, or the one after that.
