“You’re funny. Do people tell you you’re funny?”
“I… cannot say that they do,” Chara said honestly, somewhat taken aback by the question.
“Well they should!” they replied, sitting back up with an unnatural amount of conviction and getting just slightly too close into Chara’s personal space bubble. “What’s your name, by the way?”
Chara was feeling… intimidated, they think, by this person. Intimidated that their own intimidation tactics seemed to be either completely ineffective or, conversely, very effective in the complete opposite than intended direction.
“...Chara. And yours?”

In which Chara has to learn to live with what they hate.
Chara has yet to learn how to accept change. Whether it be good, bad, or something else, they've always preferred monotony. Soon, they'll have to face reality, and see the world for what it really is. They'll have to learn to accept themselves and those they disparage for who they truly are. They'll have to learn to love themselves, and allow themselves to be loved. They'll have to learn that an idle life is a wasted one.
Though…
They'll deny the truth, deny that anything has to be different, deny that the universal truths that they've taught themselves simple aren't. Their feelings will lie to them; disguise themselves. Fear as hate; false as fact; destruction as protection. Yet in the end, it will be for not.The problems Chara will soon face are what we like to call 'Growing Pains.'
