He was tired. He was not thinking straight. He barely noticed the car turning and pulling to a stop in front of him.
It felt like a dream.
A single headlight gleamed like a star. Charlie swiped wet strands of hair from his eyes.
A figure eclipsed his star and he grumbled in protest. Charlie pushed a hand away.
They were speaking, but he was not listening.
The stranger moved out of the light. Good riddance, he thought. Instead arms wrapped around his chest and he was half-lifted, half-dragged to the passenger side of the car.

Jupiter is on The Road Trip From Hell Part 2, with plenty of time to finally process their parents' death. They are driving halfway across the U.S. picking up valuable supplies for their commune in Northern California and gathering news about the world. Charlie on the other hand is...not doing great. Five years into the apocalypse and he is still looking for his friends. Or like, a friend. With just a camera, spork, and the necessities to his name, Charlie would accept any way out of Arizona at this point.

The trouble isn't just him being in your world, though. The trouble, you find, is that in trying to get him home, you both end up in places you don't belong. Places that you've only seen and heard and read about before through screens and pages.
Alternatively: You accidentally Isekai Leon into the real world, then you both get lost across worlds you've hyper-fixated on in trying to get him home.
