Summary
There's a feeling in his chest, Kai begins to understand, that scars over like the wound of Aspheera's magic uprooting his fire. He always guessed he would've felt cold should he have lost his powers again; like he felt cold when Morro had stolen Lloyd, or when Lloyd had teetered dangerously close to death. But he doesn't. This time, the feeling in his chest is hot and stuffy and blood-like, parsing through Kai's veins. It's strange.
There is no vacuum, where Aspheera had extracted his power- rather, his chest feels too full with a foreign body, curling his fingers into Cole's shoulder, and Kai's own palm.
