Shang Qinghua doesn't because he lives them first-hand, having to deal with his corporate job and finally writing something worth reading. Although his night is about to get a lot more messy than he anticipated when he comes to his favourite coffee shop, to maybe (definitely) see the cook that keeps giving him freebies. It's all for the food, he swears!

Oh, and he may or may not be obsessed with that nameless cold water mer he saved that one time, but Ice Boy probably doesn't even remember he exists. Right?

A quiet groan is the only warning Shen Yuan gets, looking up just in time to watch Shang Qinghua’s eyes flutter open.
“Wh…?” His eyes are hazy and glassy, rolling around the room in obvious confusion. Shen Yuan is perfectly prepared for this. His research had said that many people who undergo anesthesia typically wake up confused and disorientated, all normal.
Once those warm brown eyes settle on him, Shen Yuan smiles, “About time you lazy writer.”
