Dazai sighs.

It’s silent as Dazai turns away to look out the window, his eyes fighting a flicker of some kind of emotion that Chuuya doesn’t recognize.
“Because at least one of us should win and it’s not going to be me."

Summary
It'd been supposed to be a night out for a few drinks to 'celebrate' Dazai's eighteenth birthday. It had turned into a drinking contest, leading to losing their phones, their wallets, and finding themselves the next morning in Chuuya's car, in the middle of a lonely road nowhere near Yokohama and with no memory of what had happened after the alcohol had flowed a bit too freely. To make matters worse, a surprise waits inside the car, which neither of them can lay claim to.
And to make matters even worse, Dazai, the youngest executive in the history of the Port Mafia, wants to turn their mistake into a road trip, heading further west.
They're not running away. It's just a game, but neither of them know what the rules are.
(Work title taken from Kenshi Yonezu's song "Tomaremiyo" - とまれみよ - which also vaguely inspired the story idea). -

Summary
Dazai bit down on his tongue so hard that tears pricked in his eyes. He wanted to be mad. He wanted to be fucking furious. Dazai wanted nothing more than to throw the note away. To burn it. Soukoku, the infamous duo from Yokohama who’d annihilated an organization within one night, were unable to return to their own world anymore.
And so, after grieving for the life, family and friends they couldn’t return to, Soukoku decided to recreate a new home and family in this unfamiliar but black-and-white world they kind of hated; a home slightly similar to what they all had in the past in their previous world; the Port Mafia in Yokohama which operated in the gray.
(In which, Soukoku managed to build a healthier version of Port Mafia—if you see it in a certain point of view—and gain a new family made up of members lost in this black and white society.
Also, Soukoku were undoubtedly whipped for each other).
A/N : I promise this is different from the typical Soukoku going into UA as students story! As they won’t go to UA here and instead focusing on the new Port Mafia. Though, there are still UA and LOV here.

At night, Chuuya dreams of the summer after he left high school.
Freshly eighteen, and he got out of school on the last Friday, packed a bag and left home.
He drove for three hours, until a sparkling lake and the setting sun greeted him, along with a row of red cabins, mostly empty for the first week or two of the summer holidays.
He fell in love there.Chuuya fell in love. Over the course of a week and a half, the brunette boy with seemingly endless charisma and a never ending list of things to do stole his heart and dug his claws in deeper than either could have expected.
As with all summer flings, it ended as fast as it started, and he returned home with an aching abscess he couldn't shake if he tried.

Summary
When Dazai was very little, his father told him there was a Russian artist that spent his whole life only painting the ocean. Studying it, facet by facet and wave by wave until he could draw it as easily as he could breathe. He didn't get why - not back then. It seemed boring, almost, to recreate the same image over and over again. And yet: the art itself wasn't boring. It was beautiful, every single time. The reverence bled through every brushstroke, each aspect and highlight glorified in different ways throughout his portfolio.
Dazai understood it the moment he met Chuuya Nakahara.

Summary
Dazai left Yokohama just after breaking up with Chuuya, leaving behind an unread poem written to him by the same person whom he thought he would never see again. Summary
When Chuuya receives a phone call from Dazai's number in the middle of the night, the second to last thing he'd expected to hear is that the man had lost his memories; the last thing is being asked if he'd be willing to help with his recovery.
