Summary
She’s mentioned marriage a few times, in the soft, sweet quiet of the night, when they’re tucked together in his bed—him practicing caressing the skin of her hands and arms without revulsion, her practicing laying in bed with a man without fear. “When my parents were married,” she’d start, or, “In Suli weddings,” and then finally, a few months later, “Do you ever think about getting married?” To the final question, he’d been reticent to say anything more than “Yes,” quietly, fervently, but it was enough for her, in the moment, that she didn’t need to ask any more.
