Adam's eyes met the man's in a fleeting moment, and stayed fixed there, magnetized.
He was tall, and he wore an expensive-looking coat. His eyes were a deep, crystal blue, wrinkled lightly at the corners as if someone had just told him a joke. They held Adam's gaze with a curiosity that verged on recognition. His mouth was quizzical, on a knife's edge of smiling. Adam felt suddenly as if all the breath had been knocked out of him.

"Adam?"
"That's me," he responds, dully.
The doctor says nothing back, which piques Adam's interest. He opens one eye to take a quick glance at the man, only to have the wind metaphorically knocked out of his small body. He shoots upright, the singular earbud falling out in the process.
"Holy shit..." gasps Adam.
Lawrence Gordon—blonde hair slicked back and white overcoat shimmering against a black button-up, pressed dress pants, and leather loafers—is staring at Adam with utter amazement in his icicle eyes.

Or, Adam thought he'd never have to see Lawrence again, but a cancer scare is placing him right back in the doctor's nimble hands.

Adam Faulkner-Stanheight had been depressed for a while. Ever since he got out of the bathroom, with the help of Amanda Young, things had not been so great for him.
But it wasn't until Lawrence Gordon came in, looking terrified as ever, demanding that they leave, he knew that he had to get out of that depression room immediately. So he packed his stuff and left. The getaway car had then driven off into the night, with him and Lawrence inside it.
