Summary
This is my fanfic that sprouted from the concept of what if Cashmere and Gloss had to go head to head in the hunger games together. That image generated an orginal character. I am a big lover of Finnick so I paired them up together! This is my first fic and I hope you enjoy! Starts prior to Into the Ring, and loosely follows the canon timeline. There is eventually smut, so enter at your peril. Reader is never physically described but uses a false name and may be treated as an OC.

Summary
High-powered public defender Steve Rogers is the American Dream. A decorated war veteran, Steve fights for the "little guy," the ones who can't help themselves, and his adoring public has him on a pedestal.
Y/N Rumlow is struggling to survive after a messy divorce. Despite the mountain of evidence that her ex-husband was abusive and unfaithful, all of the blame was placed on Y/N. And since her ex was a lawyer, friends with the judge, and their divorce was handled less than legally, Y/N was left almost destitute.
When Y/N's ex is gruesomely murdered, she is arrested for the crime. Her arrest and questioning is handled through the darker side of the law, and a twist of events has Steve becoming her lawyer. He's shocked to see his client, his high school sweetheart who has been through hell. He's determined to clear her name, while she's just trying to survive, with both of them trying to convince themselves that their feelings for each other died a long time ago.

Summary
Marvel AU/Non-canon: AU where Civil War ended differently. In Siberia, Tony backs up Steve and came to understand that Bucky didn’t mean to kill his parents. Instead, the team lives together; Bucky is de-programmed by Shuri immediately then moves into the compound. The Reader is an ex-Hydra agent who was captured before WW2 and tested on with the Tesseract and genetic experiments that enhanced her reflexes and senses. After being held captive and tortured into being a Hydra agent, the Reader escapes before they can inject her with extra serum. During her escape, she's stopped by a defrosted Bucky but manages to appeal to his humanity and escapes.
Years later, Tony hears about a young woman in Madripoor with enhanced reflexes who fights blindfolded in cage matches. He and Bruce recruit her to join the Avengers. Neither the Reader nor Bucky expected to see each other again, resulting in a lot of... tension.
*Clint decided not to retire and lives with his family in the non-Avenger residential compound a mile away. Wandavision and Brutasha are a thing. Other Avengers come to visit as well.*
