Jabber raises an eyebrow when he hears Arms say his name. Broke up, huh? Yeah, he and a certain someone did, by conventional standards, break up recently, he guesses. Their entire floor must’ve heard one Zanka Nijiku’s declaration of “get the hell away from me” and “never breathe the same air as me again.” And yeah, Jabber snapped back that he’d take the first bus to hell just so he wouldn’t have to see Zanka’s wet dream inducing face again — in those exact words.
Okay, sure, broke up, makes sense, but... Zanka can’t be who they’re talking about having a shot with, right?
“So now I got a shot. Maybe I can calm down that bad attitude of his.”
Holy shit, it is!
[Or, the one where Jabber and Zanka break up, some random guy thinks he’s got a shot with Zanka, and Jabber sits back and waits for this loser to royally fuck up since no one can handle Mr. Bad Attitude quite like Jabber can.]

Jabber’s eyes flared a vivid magenta. He let out a low, shallow hum, the sound echoing off the narrow walls as his head tipped only slightly to the side. That was never a good sign. He was scheming. Plotting. You could always tell when he got quiet like this, a grin tugging lazy and sharp at the corner of his mouth, eyes locked on like he’d already placed a silent bet.
“Sure ’bout that?” Jabber purred. Zanka didn’t know what shit he was about to pull. Only that whatever it was, he was not going to enjoy it one bit.

Their arrangement should have been straightforward: meet up, fuck, and part ways. No feelings, no strings attached. Meeting in secret every couple of months has its ups and downs. Especially when unwanted emotions get thrown into the mix, and the sex gets messy in more ways than one.

Tamsy’s gaze becomes lidded and his head tilts slightly. He thinks for a moment, twirling the end of a strand of his hair before he responds.
Enjin’s fingers ache from where the flame of the cigarette starts to burn the filter.

Summary
Zanka’s breaths are short and wet– he’s not long for this world. Without his mask and with that gaping wound in his chest, anyone can see that he’s not going to survive more than another minute or so. Jabber sits beside him, giddy with anticipation as he waits for Zanka's inevitable death.
Jabber gets trapped in a time loop where Zanka dies, over and over. It doesn't bother him- he loves the look on Zanka's face as the light fades from his eyes- until he comes to a few realisations about himself, and then it really, really does.
