Summary
Ava Silva is a beautifully disguised devil. Once she knows she has a hold on Lilith, she starts to use it.
Some part of Lilith thinks she should be upset about this, because she’s had people use their power over her before and it’s the kind of thing that’s ruined her life.
This is different though, because Ava’s power over her is different, it’s the antithesis of everything else she’s ever experienced.
Where people like her mother or Adriel would use their hold on her to make her less of who she wanted to be and more of who they needed her to be, Ava is doing the opposite.
She pushes Lilith as if she’s trying to tap into the parts of herself she’s afraid of.
What’s worse, is that Beatrice is letting her. Beatrice, Lilith thinks, is encouraging it.

She opened and closed her mouth a couple of times before shaking her head in disbelief, holding out her hand in a ‘stop right there’ motion. “Okay, pause, back all the way up. What in the ever-loving ‘and they were roommates’ bullshit is this? I knew about the bed sharing which is suspicious but passable enough as platonic but why in the world are you guys showering together?! Are you guys having platonic sex too??”
Ava scoffed defensively. “No we are not sleeping together—“

"Reading." Ava cracked open the book and frowned at the pages. "Well, I'm going to try to."
"Why?"
"Because you're here and I want to hang out with you." Ava replied as if the answer was the most obvious thing in the world.
Her gaze was focused heavily on the book in her hand so it was no surprise that she didn't notice Beatrice openly staring at her.
"What are you reading?" Beatrice asked quietly after a few minutes.
"Poetry?" Ava turned another page. "Yep. Definitely poetry. I'd read one for you but I feel like I'd butcher them."

Beatrice grins into Ava’s adoration. “So all the time then?”
“All the fucking time, Bea.” Ava pulls her glasses off then and leans in to kiss her on the lips. This time, she lets herself sink into it because it’s been a long fucking morning already and now she has to go a banquet and god Bea tastes like caramel and strong coffee.

Like an asshole, the tarask shows up in their fucking bedroom, Beatrice out of the bed, out from under Ava, and armed within like two seconds and Ava instinctively sheltering them both in a halo bubble as she scrambles, tangled in the duvet. When she realizes what’s happening, she groans, flopping back in frustration and pulling her shirt back into place.
“What the actual fuck, man?”
The messenger doesn’t answer, but his massive shoulders move and his head tilts sideways in what Ava likes to think is a flaming, otherworldly demon-ish gesture for “my bad.”
Beatrice is close to flaming herself at this point and her glare is only mildly less intimidating with a bright red glaze. She’s pulling her hair back into a bun and has somehow already pulled on sweatpants. Ava mourns.
“This better be good, dude. I was busy.”

Summary
Do you believe that love can travel through time?

During a time when their love was not meant to be, they will try to fulfill their heart's desire that was tragically taken away from them, as different people and in different lives.
Ava has had this recurring nightmare since she was a child. It always tragically ends with her being shot in the chest and screaming herself awake. It comes every year at the same time. When the sun sets much earlier in the sky and the rain starts to fall.
Until one day, an unfortunate event led her to meet Beatrice.
Then the nightmares started to get less traumatizing, and her dreams became clearer, and more secrets revealed themselves to Ava.
