A year after joining the good side, Superman still struggles to give Conner what he needs, in large party thanks to the boy's heart drifting from time to time back to Lex. Now, with a new threat looming, they have to ask for the villain's help at a party hosted by him, and Conner has to be the one to convince him, however, he takes that opportunity to get some closure with the villain he called father once, and maybe, potentially save his life.
But someone else close to Lex has sights set on the boy, and after an emotionally charged conversation, that someone tries to kill him.

The term hanahaki comes from the Japanese words hana (花), which means "flower", and hakimasu (吐きます), which means "to throw up".
Hanahaki Disease (花吐き病 (Japanese); 하나하키병 (Korean); 花吐病 (Chinese)) is a disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings also disappear.
