He knows it as he pours lotion onto his hands and massages his legs. He knows it as he washes his face with his charcoal soap and dries his face off with a towel.

It errs just on the wrong side of human.
So does the alien’s face, as it pops into Lex’s head.
How anyone describes Lex’s eyes as blazing while Superman lights fires with his own burning eyes is beyond him. How anyone describes his words as scathing when what comes from Superman’s mouth could freeze volcanos. How anyone describes him as untouchable while Superman has skin that bullets do not break.
