Summary
Derek’s eyes narrow and Stiles knows he’s fucked up royally, because between one heartbeat and the next, Derek’s pinning him down with one hairy, strong arm.
He practically crawls his way up Stiles’ body, as Stiles scrambles back on the couch to get further away from him, still raising the bowl of candy above his head.
Derek, with a huff of victory finally gets level with Stiles’ face. He reaches up for the bowl again but where Derek’s strong, Stiles is gangly, and it’s still just out of Derek’s reach.
Stiles shoves Derek’s elbow out from under him and he collapses down on top of Stiles with a surprised oomph.
“Can’t get me Derek, I’m the whacky, inflatable arm waving-man,” Stiles laughs delightedly, right in Derek’s face.
Derek’s really close face. His incredibly handsome, stubbly face, a face that is inches away from his own face.
Fuck balls.

Summary
It’s a tentative, fragile thing, what they have together. Nothing more than the bare bones of something that might, in a different world, be worth defining.
Which means they fuck a lot, but not much else.
Stiles is okay with it, but he also knows himself pretty well by now, and enforcing a clear divide between sex and feelings has never been his vibe. Derek, though—Derek is skittish. A bunny-rabbit-heart beating fast, fast, fast beneath the sharp teeth and claws of a wolf’s costume.
He sees it, even if Derek pretends otherwise.
But also:
“Can you give us, like, two minutes, tops?" Stiles asks, a bit desperate. "Some of us didn’t get to orgasm, and I'm not naming any names here, but—yeah, okay, it’s me.”
His dad exhales, tired and displeased, the kind of breath that usually comes right before he puts Stiles under strict house arrest.
"Hale," he says resolutely. "Get your goddamn ass off my kid."

Derek—who had been mid-sip of coffee—forgot how to swallow.
The mug slammed onto the counter a beat too late. “Why are you—?”

Derek tries and fails to shut his gaping mouth as Stiles arrives at his desk, heartbeat rabbiting a little faster than usual.
Stiles grabs a file out of his desk, muttering something about forgetting to mail it yesterday and needing to get it down to filing by Monday. Derek’s barely paying attention, unable to concentrate with the scent of him right under his nose.
He leans over Derek to grab an empty envelope from their shared stationary tray and Derek knows he’s absolutely fucked when he sees how his trousers are moulded to his perfect ass.
“So.... how do I look?” Stiles asks casually as he stands back up, as if his very presence hasn’t just given Derek a very sudden and uncomfortable boner.
He looks like he should be on the cover of GQ.
What Derek wants to say, what he really means to say, is that he looks fine. Quite nice, even.
What comes out of his mouth is so far from that, it’s almost ridiculous.
“You can’t go out looking like that!” Derek manages, sounding choked.

Sheriff Stilinski walks in on Stiles and Derek in a compromising position and assumes they're in a relationship even though they were just sneaking around to keep the sheriff out of their supernatural shenanigans. Obviously it's all Derek's fault for being so damn suspicious - at least that's Stiles opinion and the reason why he gives Derek a taste of his own medicine when he invites him over for family dinner at his dad's request.
Only then Derek turns the tables on Stiles and before Stiles knows it, they're fake dating for reasons of revenge, one-upmanship and the preservation of Stiles' relationship with his dad.
