    “You understand that if proven false, the terms of this deal will be null, and you will be subjected to the full force of typical interrogation techniques, correct?” Julius presses.

    The man smiles bitterly, like Julius told the worst joke he’d ever heard. “Yes, naturally.”

    “Then,” Julius steels himself for whatever he will hear, no matter how horrid or absurd. Staring down at the captive with iron in his eyes, he launches into his first question.

    “Otto Suwen, how did a merchant like you become affiliated with the Witch’s Cult?”

    From the ground, Otto Suwen stares back impassively.
