    In a world where the nukes never dropped and Operation Downfall happened along with a Soviet invasion of Northern Japan, Gensokyo was occupied and made into an ASSR (Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic) of the Russian SFSR (Soviet Federative Socialist Republic) of the USSR (I don't think I need to give the abbreviation for this one). Nothing lasts forever however, and that includes the USSR itself as it nears its final days...

    (NOTE: This work was formerly known as "Post-Soviet Gensokyo", but I decided to change the title as I think that the story stands on its own without the "Post-" part.)

    The Scarlet Devil mansion has developed an issue with its plumbing and the residents have become very uncomfortable. To assist, Yukari has kidnapped a plumbing contractor from the outside world.

    Enter Carlos. Carlos is a fifty-something plumber living in Detroit at around the turn of the millennium. Carlos buys American. He's a little bit racist. He doesn't know what anime is. He's still angry about Pearl Harbor and he still uses lead solder because it's better. He sometimes goes bass fishing instead of going to church. Think of Hank Hill and you aren't too far off.

    When you live with the same people for centuries, problems are bound to surface. Maybe Carlos can help fix more than just the plumbing?
