There’s nothing recognizable about Jason, except maybe the way he zeroes in on you the second you step into the room. He always treated you that way, like you were what he was waiting for, the only reason he even showed up.
“Jason.” You say when you remember how to talk again. You’re vaguely aware that you’re digging your nails into your palms. You tell yourself to blink, your eyes beginning to water, but you can’t bring yourself to, afraid you’ll find that Jason won’t be there anymore.
“Hey, Mags,” the figure greets you, and it’s the first time anyone’s called you that in years. It makes sense that it would be Jason who uses the nickname. He gave it to you, after all.

You and Jason Todd spent your teen years together under Batman's tutelage and Bruce Wayne's care, your bond going much further than any words can describe. Six years after his apparent death, Jason reappears, both of you angry and dejected, teeming with love you don't know what to do with.
You missed each other.
