As the son of a Sheriff, Stiles is supposed to join the Argents' Hunter Youth Camp and fight in the five year war against the supernatural when he's of age.
Mostly, he's resigned himself to the strict schedules and the mundane routine and the conforming rules. For his dad's sake.But when two werewolf prisoners are brought to camp, Stiles finds himself doing something dangerously, ridiculously stupid.
It's Scott's fault for having pretty brown eyes, really.

Scott looks away again. "So I can't tell her."
Stiles deflates in defeat. "Yeah. Fine... But you know she'll learn eventually, right? Somehow. And if it comes from one of the Argents, they'll twist it to make it your fault. Yours and Derek's." His mouth pulls to the side. "She might hate you."
Scott takes a deep breath, picks at the blanket. "I know." It's better than her having to hate her mom. "It's fine."
He knows they both know it's not.
...One-shot I think they should've included after Victoria almost kills Scott because I hate how they barely showed Stiles's reaction to Scott almost dying and also how they never talked about why Stiles was upset in more than one line.

Summary
Werewolves were rare, mysterious mutants of nature. Lycanthropy showed its symptoms in adolescence. They cropped up every now and then, and turned communities on their heads as the government struggled to find ways to manage them - and to protect them. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there were people hell bent on destroying them. Worse still were the people who thought that werewolves served a more suitable role as pets.

“You’re so unlucky, my dude!” Whoever he is, the guy laughs with glee, but his eyes are thoughtful, as if he is considering whether to help an inattentive child. “You’re a werewolf now, no take backs!” He apparently decides something for himself and jumps down, forcing a growl from Scott’s mouth but its more defensive than aggressive. The monster inside that made him do reckless things in recent days – and especially now – doesn’t want to take risks.
