Castiel stops by the Bunker to find neither Winchester brother at home. After texting Dean he finds an ad for a place in Lincoln called "The Bike Stop" while rummaging for something to read in Dean's bedroom. It advertises something called a "Bootblack" along with "Gear" and "Leather." Castiel's confused but intrigued. Dean's in Lincoln too. Maybe that's where Dean went. The hunter surely won't mind if the angel goes to meet him.
No specific time. Vaguely post-Season 10.

Castiel is stunned -- absolutely astounded to still be alive. But he needs to focus on healing himself. He needs to get out of the bunker before Dean returns because he has no doubt that the hunter will stay true to his word and not “miss” next time.
He is far from healed when he hears Dean approach the library. “You just aren’t the listening type, are you, Cas?”

Ah. Now Castiel understands. Dean defiantly demands his own death. As if the man at his feet were in a position to demand anything.
And by all rights Castiel should give Dean his wish. He should end Dean Winchester's life now, should have done it long before this point; if not for Dean's traitorous course then certainly given the human's absolute insolence and inexcusable and continuous lack of respect.
