It wasn’t something either one had ever dared planned or even hoped for. But they’d just known when the time came, and it had happened, almost miraculously so. Sin, joy, guilt. The little seaside community – this little fishing village on Crockett Island – held many unspoken things, and those things were tied to the waves that washed in and out with the days and hours.

Frustrated by the way that AO3 would change or ignore HTML code I inserted, and unable to find an up-to-date, detailed guide, I decided to investigate the functionality of every tag that is permitted by the platform.
I learned a lot, and hopefully you can too!
Planned content:
Chapter 1 - Appearance Tags (tags which format text, and insert lines, etc.)
Chapter 2 - Functionality Tags (tags which do something; e.g. creating links to other pages, hover-over text, insert images, etc.)

Twenty-five years after the events of Crockett Island, John, going by another name now, manages his condition and his hunger, content to spend the rest of his immortal days alone as atonement. Until the daughter of one of his parishioners comes into town with her own story of hubris and, as like calls to like, they both recognize something within each other that feels like forgiveness.
"There’s a flicker, every now and again, of some other side of him, of some depth and melancholy a darkness in yourself recognizes, like the howl of a wolf to its pack. You realize, with deep disgust, that you want to get your nails under this barely contained pretense and peel it back, as if there was some universal truth you could find — some abject and total honesty you could tear into, feed on, and find clarity.
Would he offer himself willingly?
After all, you are lost and he is a Shepard."
