"Look at you, so precious" Regina's voice was akin to a coo, such an odd sound to hear when pain was radiating through her scalp with every hair pulled "your neck is so long like this, so graceful and pale. You're just like a swan" it was a compliment she'd suffered to get, but as she watched Regina's eyes pick her apart piece by piece, she found herself unable to focus on the pain.
It was only a background thought compared to the look that burned into her.
"You don't need your Mother; I'm going to take care of you now" Regina insisted, her grip only tightening to pull a wince of pain from Emma.
Regina leaned in and pressed her lips to the side of her temple, leaving a toxic kiss behind that made Emma's heart skip six beats. With her lips still pressed against her skin, Regina spoke once more.

America wasn't like the sitcoms Wanda watched as a child. There were no laugh tracks, falling was painful not slapstick, everything didn’t come out OK after 20 minutes, and the guy in the hospital didn’t go home at the end of the episode. If the Avengers were one big, happy family, then Wanda wasn’t a part of it.
Steve and Sam didn’t trust her and they were right to. Natasha was perfectly professional, as if Wanda hadn’t locked her into her worst memory and walked away. Clint had to return to his family and the other boys were rarely around. And Pietro, the life always sprinting parallel to her own, as crucial as oxygen, lay unnaturally still and silent, his mind closed off.
And then, one day, Natasha brought her daughter to work. And for the first time in four weeks, Wanda felt hopeful. Wanda was good with kids. Really good. And the others adored Steffie. Maybe if the kid warmed up to Wanda, the others would too.
… That wasn't precisely what happened.
Or how Wanda and Steffie hate each other until they don’t, and their sharp edges cut until they stitch.

Natasha Romanov would do a lot of things differently if she could. For one, she probably would have never enlisted. She never would've left that sweet girl crying in her window all those years ago. But mostly, she should've been there for Wanda. Now, though? Staring down at a pair of eyes she never thought she’d see again, just on the face of a child that was otherwise her own mirror image? This could be her second chance- nearly a decade later.

So here is my Vauseman fic that I've been talking about! I immediatly started writing for these two as soon as I finished the show the first time in 2021. I just needed to add more to the story. This story actually started off with the letters at the beginning. There aren't many but I wanted them to have the opportunity to express these things to each other and to have these conversations and since Alex was transferred to Ohio it seemed like letters were the best way and the rest of the story built up around it. I actually don't linger long in the time of Alex in prison because what I wanted to write was her getting out and them actually getting to have a normal relationship outside of prison. There will be a little angst but honestly mostly fluff and smutt lol. If you read my Marina stuff you know, I don't write a lot of dramatic angst. I use writing as comfort and escape and writing a bunch dramatic angst isn't much of escape for me(but other's do it beautifully). Most of the vauseman stories I've read have a lot of drama and cheating and that's not what I wanted to write for them. I feel like they deserve a healthy relationship and future. I hope you enjoy! Let me know if you want me to keep posting!
