Summary
Alicent Hightower has been imprisoned for longer than she can even guess. Days, weeks, months, she can no longer tell one from the other within the darkness and unyielding silence of the deepest of the Black Cells.
Her only respite is the thing she fears more than the cold and the dark, the nightly visit from the one who confined her to this punishment in the first place.

Summary
It has been decades since Alicent Hightower was last in Westeros, and centuries since she recognised it. Blessed with unimaginable power as she walks the earth, and cursed to walk it alone, she returns to her homeland to mourn those she has lost, believing she will never see their faces again. Yet, in the unlikeliest of places, a chance encounter brings her face to face with the woman she loved and lost so many years ago. Alicent cannot hope to understand why this stranger wears the face of Rhaenyra Targaryen, but she will. She knows the risks, but she had no choice. Alicent has to know her.
