Loon Song. Shane had heard of it, in an offside way. When he was with Rose, years ago, a place she’d mentioned because a friend had gone, and he didn’t get the hint because of course he didn’t. It looked overwhelming. Reservation only. Limited seating. Set tasting menu. Classic French with a Russian twist—Shane didn’t know anything about either cuisine, and didn’t know how to appreciate it. Most of his knowledge, and by most he meant all, went to hockey.
But he liked food. In a way he couldn’t describe; he liked its purpose, what it provided to him, the way it existed as a communal endeavor.Shane has a complicated relationship with food. It needs to nourish him, keep him at the top of his game. But good food is a temptation any man would give into, and when it comes from the hands of Ilya Rozanov, Shane would be a fool to say no.

Ten minutes passed, and Ilya, who normally could drift off easily, only felt more and more wired. He definitely didn't want sex while the other person was feeling bad. The thought made him nauseous. But he found himself still yearning for the release that came with being with Hollander. If not the physical release, the emotional and mental one. Behind his eyelids, all he could see were those damn freckles.
Ilya gnawed on his lip and decided to toe a line they haven't crossed yet. Ironically, this was one that usually came way before every other line they've already crossed. He picked back up his phone.
Lily: You are sleeping for a few hours in the hotel.
Jane: Yeah? And?
Lily: Does it matter if you are sleeping in your room, or in mine?

“You wish you had someone who can show you?” Ilya catches on.
“Maybe,” Shane says, voice barely louder than a whisper. “It doesn't matter, though. It’s stupid. Let’s just sleep, okay?”
Ilya is quiet and Shane thinks the conversation has come to an end. That is, until Ilya speaks again. “I could do it.”
Shane’s heart stops. What the hell does that mean? “Do what?” he laughs, nervously.
“I could show you.”
