“Yes. You see, you had my hands tied for our entire trek from the lake to that store. As soon as we got there, though, you cut me loose. You freed me before sending me inside to my alleged doom.” Lucy shrugs her shoulders. “Why?” Now he’s scowling at her. She presses her lips together, holding back a grin. “Well?”

She huffs. “Have you always been this self-sabotaging?” He has no good comeback for that beyond a scoff. She quirks an eyebrow at him in response. “I don’t think you would string me along just to betray me. That doesn’t seem like your style.”
“And what exactly is my style, Sweetheart?”
“Honesty.” He opens his mouth but before he can speak— “It’s different from integrity.” Then he nods his head. “And don’t try to prove me wrong by being a jerk. We’re past that behaviour at this point.”
He holds back a little grin. “Are we now?”

AKA, the more time cooper spends with lucy (which is all of it now that they're traveling together), the more he finds himself opening up to her, and the more he opens up to her, the more he realises how much he wants to touch her...and be touched in return

Summary
When Jinu saw her relentless look for him had ended, Rumi stood before him, agitated and hurt.
"Say... you didn't do this."
With a snap of his fingers, the demons disguised as Mira and Zoey returned to their original forms and disappeared from the scene with an evil grin.
"How could you do this?!" Rumi's palms slammed into his chest as she furiously tried to push him away.
She could barely move him.
"It was all a lie," Jinu said coldly to her.
"It was real!" she insisted. "What we had was real—. I know it was!"

Except for five, and as mistakenly and perhaps naively assumed they did not just magically turn human. And now, without the everburning source of power which Gwi-Ma supplied all demons with, their hunger grows.

Rumi has never gotten exactly what she wants—it's embedded in her stubborn soul. But doesn't matter, because he's here now, so up close and so vivid that Rumi can pretend that it's real. She'll pretend she doesn't know exactly how much more it will hurt when she wakes.
"You're here." She says, when she decides she's stared long enough to be embarrassed. They say nothing else, and the two fall into their silently familiar and oddly comforting pace. She realizes she can't hear his footsteps.
It's dreams like this she could get lost in: aimless wandering, with not a destination in mind. She hasn't had this, not ever, in her lifetime of running, hiding, and then hunting, chasing, killing. Chasing Jinu. Killing Jinu.
Rumi ignores the way her lungs tighten.
or, Rumi grapples with the internal aftermath of sealing the Honmoon, and dreams about Jinu.

“We shouldn’t,” Jinu manages in between kisses, in between hands groping her all over, reaching for every dip and swell of flesh, every exposed skin waiting to be marked. “I shouldn’t want you. Shouldn’t want this. I should hate this, I should, I should, I should —”
But then Rumi tangles a hand in black hair and he falls silent. Nothing but a gasp as fingers furl and unfurl around soft locks. Tugging ever so slightly, a little out of fondness, a little out of frustration. I love you, whispered in the way she trails kisses along the slope of his jaw.
“Then take me like you hate me,” she offers. So easily, so casually like she’s made for it. For him. “Like you hate this. All of this. Would that help? Would you finally have me then?”

Summary
In a moment of sheer instinct, Jinu ran towards her instead of the exit, pretending to attack from the front so that his body covered her shoulder from her friends. He worked fast, tearing a slice from his shirt and tying it tightly around her arm, pressing her head to his chest to keep her hidden behind the bulk of his body.
“What are you doing?” She hissed, fighting to free her arms from his embrace as he secured the knot.
“Saving you, dumbass!” He hissed at her slack jawed expression. “Hold still!”
He tugged on the knot, making sure it would hold, and then gave her a small push, just enough to make it look like she had shoved him off of her, and raced out of the bathhouse, catching up with the rest of the Saja boys with his mind reeling from his discovery.
Or, a retelling of Kpop demon hunters with a few missing moments sprinkled into the story, along with the happy ending that all the characters deserve.
Chapter nine can also be read as a standalone oneshot for the aquarium date.
