Summary
In a world where magic is outlawed for all but the ruling class nobility, wizard Caleb Widogast is a homeless beggar, living on the streets of Zemni’s capital city of Rexxentrum. Caleb has only his best and most devoted friend, a sly goblin thief named Nott, and his secret past.
Far above, on the immaterial plane, lives Lucien, elsewise known as the Nonagon, a Frost Sprite and an underling of the Goddesses of Autumn and Winter, his time shared between The Moonweaver and The Raven Queen as the seasons change. When Lucien happens upon Caleb one day, freezing in the cold, he is aghast that the beauty he creates can cause so much suffering. Desperate to end that suffering and becoming more deeply enamored each passing day, Lucien makes a decision that will change both their lives forever.
After begging his goddesses to be allowed to visit the mortal plane in an attempt to secure the love of Caleb, Lucien makes a bargain only to find himself embroiled in the worst of humanity’s proclivities - hatred, war, jealousy, violence, and murder, all of which come to center around Caleb himself.

Summary
Shiro has been a Galra prisoner for over a year; with his flight feathers clipped and unable to fly. Desperate to escape, he jumps overboard while being transported to the capitol on a Galran ship. Lance is a merman who saves him from drowning. Keith thinks Shiro is about to become mermaid dinner. Hunk just wants Lance to stop going to the surface all the time, dammit!
(AU where Avians (winged folk), Galra, humans and merfolk cohabit earth. Shiro and Keith are avian soldiers, Lance is the youngest son of a Queen, Hunk is also a merman and Pidge is still looking for her family. They get caught up in a war.)

This WAS NOT a crush. It was just a mild infatuation with a stranger that Keith would forget about in a few days.
So why was his laptop open, his browser connected to the Missed Connections section of Craigslist for his area? And why was he typing out a post against his better judgment? And why, oh god, why was he hitting send? All for a pair of dazzling blue eyes and a brilliant smile.
Worth it? Maybe. Or maybe he'd regret it till his dying day.
Update: Feb 2k17: Guys, I still haven't officially given up on this fic, but am going through some personal stuff right now that is not helpful in the motivating me to write department. So so sorry! :(
