Summary
The Blade followed the red carpet path scarcely illuminated, walking like a puppet controlled, like the dots of a paintbrush being forced into action. That voice that they had grown accustomed to, those gestures that could push and pull and twist and tear, the smile. The smile which brought emotions, confused emotions, painful emotions, burning emotions. Even if the Blade did not see her right now, they visualized it. The image in full detail, the feeling in full feeling, the sounds in full clarity. She was there, it was clear to them, like in broad daylight, no need for bleary things such as one’s own vision.
But if the sun disappears and so too does the daylight, what is left for the blind?

Two points of pain, close together but far away, sharp but blunt, piercing. She tried pushing the Bloodfiend out of her, but she could only lightly tug on her shoulders, barely budging the masked woman an inch. That was it. She would turn into a miserable, horrible bloodbag that would be forced to do her bidding, or even worse, a Bloodfiend, caring for others of her disgusting kin like… Like someone, something. No more insults could come to mind at that time. After just a few seconds of that stinging pain in her neck, she felt her eyes heavy, a strained gasp escaping her mouth. She had regrets, lots of them, but she let herself go. Her last vision of scarlet and crimson.
