Summary
Scar is the ruler of the Sand Kingdom, one of the most powerful factions of the land. Grian is an Avian, about to embark on his annual migration through the Scarhara Desert with his flock.
When unprecedented circumstances get Grian captured by the Sand Kingdom, he has a choice to make; conduct a daring escape, or try and fix the Kingdoms' twisted view of his kind?
And, of course, navigate the difficult, confusing feelings that arise regarding a certain desert royal.
Adenium obesum, more commonly known as a desert rose, is a poisonous species of flowering plant. The flowers tend to be red and pink, often with a whitish blush outward of the throat. They are known to be a metaphor for something beautiful emerging in harsh conditions.

Summary
In the Fritz district, heroes weren’t the people that jumped across buildings and sat at the mayor’s feet. They didn’t put criminals behind bars or show up on TV wearing shiny colours and shinier smiles.
They were the people that kept up the codes, painting new coats when they started to fade and swapping out old ones when new residents moved in. They were the cashiers that kept track of people’s spending and turned a blind eye when a struggling Hermit snuck something extra into their pocket.
They were the people who knew the bare minimum about medicine and handed out that help like candy on Halloween.
They were the kind of person Grian was becoming.

Delicate purple and white drapes hung from the figure's body. His presence was almost ethereal as huge purple-dipped wings fell behind him. Soft, dirty blond hair was pinned and styled to show off the slight waves that perfectly framed his face.
Scar quickly glanced away, his cheeks starting to burn a crimson red. What are you thinking?! This is the enemy, keep his stupid, perfect, swirling void eyes out of your mind! Stars- I need to get it together.

Grian hated Convex’s prince; he was stuck up and thought the world revolved around him. His charming words wouldn’t work on Grian—he would make sure of that. But slowly, the hidden layers started to peel back, and the hatred dulled. Suddenly, Grian found himself looking at Scar’s lips way too often.If he didn’t get his feelings under control soon, then this wouldn’t end well.

"Don't make me take back my words," Grian grumbled.
Hotguy beamed at him. "Well then! Why don't we get you home, beauty?" Hotguy questioned, holding his arm out for Grian to take.
Grian rolled his eyes but indulged the hero. He slotted his hand through the man's arm and gave him a questioning smile, "Seriously, why do you keep calling me that?"
Hotguy gave a sly smile but nothing else, letting the professor's question be left on a cliffhanger.

Grian just can't get a break. He works a double life, has to deal with an annoying hero cop, and now there's someone or something following his every move. So, being the idiot he is, does everything in his power to ignore such. Unfortunely, that can not be done for long.
