Summary
There are certain things the Kazekage isn't supposed to do.
He's not meant to fraternize with foreign shinobi, he's not meant to be a lifelong bachelor or child-less, he's not meant to sleep around, and he is certainly not meant to fall in love with another man from another village.
But then again, some rules are meant to be broken.
Or five times Gaara tried—with varying degrees of success—to meet the councils expectations and the one time he stopped trying altogether and did what was best for him.

Summary
Every orphaned child in Konoha hopes to someday find family.
Most children know who they are, know who their parents were--shinobi who died for the village, civilians caught in the crossfire--but some children do not have that luxury.
Rock Lee has always been one of those outcast children, but with time he'd learned to accept the loneliness and isolation being an outcast in a shinobi village caused. Maito Gai had given him the paternal love he'd never had, while Tenten and Neji had given him the siblings other orphans had always refused to be for him. He told himself whatever memories of his parents he'd lost, whatever childhood he could have had did not matter because he was Rock Lee, Konoha's Beautiful Blue Beast.
But then one day, there came a knock at his door...

Summary
Gaara's new apartment isn't much, but in his mind it's perfect. It might be tiny, but it has what he needs: a bedroom, a living room, a bathroom, a teeny tiny kitchen, and a rather attractive neighbor.
But it also has something that wasn't mentioned in the lease.

Summary
Gaara knows how to say 'love' in so many languages he's lost count. He knows how to write it in just as many. The first way he learned is etched into the skin of his forehead, thirteen precise strokes. He studies love like it's a discipline he still hasn't mastered, seeking it out in books and art and old stories from Suna's past; he crafts it in various ways, and tries to learn and relearn its meaning with every breath he takes. He searches for it in the eyes of foreign shinobi and locals alike. He begs to understand love and all its forms, never quite full up on it, never quite sure what exactly he's missing when it comes to love.

Summary
Forgiveness is a concept Gaara has never applied to himself. He works tirelessly for the betterment of Suna and her people, never expecting anything, let alone something as sacred and precious as forgiveness. Who could absolve him of his past when all those he'd encountered as Suna's monster are dead? He locks away the guilt and works diligently, keeping the village safe. Until, one day, the long avoided plague of sleep overcomes him, and he cannot fight the nightmares or the fresh guilt they bring.
On the heels of this troubling sleep issue, Temari's first child arrives, and with her arrival the need for a nanny.
But it's not as simple as just any nanny arriving on their doorstep. It's none other than Rock Lee, who brings with him the living reminder of Gaara's past and the pain he'd wrought.

And so he does the only thing he can think to do: he writes it all down in a letter he never intends to send.

Summary
There is an old, abandoned house between two towns. It sits in the middle of the divide, claimed by neither town. No one knows who used to live there, when it was built, or why. It's once green exterior has been muddied by time, paint chipped and boards broken--a dried out husk that may never have been habitable.
And as with all strange and inexplicable things, stories are told. Passed from one to another, the house's reputation precedes itself. And though the legend changes from person to person, one thing always remains the same: anyone who steps inside the house is never seen again.

Summary
When Shikamaru goes missing on an ill-fated expedition in the south of Wind, Gaara heads up a search party in order to find him. He gathers a team from Suna and calls for aid from Konoha. Not long before Gaara departs for the south, Rock Lee arrives with word from the Hokage: the Konoha team will meet them in the south with a team best suited to the forest, and Lee will be joining them...
But Lee's presence is more of a distraction than a help, and Gaara can't afford to be distracted when his brother-in-law's life is on the line. Distraction on a normal mission would be folly, distraction when entering the Komodo Forest could lead to a fate worse than death.
For deep in the forest, something dark lurks, something more deadly than sand or fists, something none of them are prepared to face.

Summary
He dives beneath the waves in search of abalone and seaweed, just as his mother and her mother did before him. He swims every day the weather allows, carrying his net below the waves as he seeks what bounty the ocean has to offer. What he doesn't hope to find is a fish with the face of a man and seafoam eyes that cry tears of pearl.

Summary
In the history of Sunagakure, no Kazekage has ever been without a wife. That was, until Gaara of the Desert took office at fourteen. At the time, the council accepted this deferment of tradition—Gaara was too young to wed.
But when the Sovereign of Anar State comes to seek Suna's aid, Gaara winds up with more than just an alliance: he's handed a marriage contract. One that tradition requires that he accept.
As the wedding preparations inevitably proceed, Gaara must choose a Confidant—a close friend selected to guide him through the yearlong journey to the altar. However, Rock Lee turns out to be more than a Confidant. And much more than a friend.

Summary
Silk Province, as most of Wind does, struggles under the Kaze Daimyo's rule.
The north accepts his "leadership"; the west remains silent; but the south desires freedom, and there is no better person to help obtain such freedom than Gaara of the Desert.
But as the south of Silk seeks Gaara's help, the Kaze Daimyo lays plans of his own, determined to sabotage any and all attempts at sovereignty. He enlists Konoha, under the leadership of the seventh and youngest Hokage, Uzumaki Naruto, who is far too green and far too naive to recognize the trick being played on him. But in times of peace, what does Naruto truly have to worry about? Without a second thought, he sends a team to escort the Kaze Daimyo from the capitol of Wind to the south of Silk for a meeting that does not go according to anyone's plan.

Summary
They called it the Endless War.
It was as endless as the bottles and bottles of liquor Rock Lee drank because the world had become a barren wasteland and there was hardly any reason left to be anything but drunk and angry. Besides, he fought better drunk. He killed better drunk. He loved better drunk.
And he hurt less, too.

Summary
“Hurry up!” he called back, stopping on a thick branch to look over his shoulder.
“Slow down a little,” Tenten called. “It's going to take three days to get there no matter what.”
Lee's chest tightened, and he snapped, “The Kazekage might not have that long. We need to pick up the pace.”
