CuteGuy looked around Scar's apartment, smiling affectionately.
He caught himself, realizing that his heart was in his eyes. It was a little embarrassing to be so unabashedly fond in front of HotGuy.
Speaking of whom… the hero seemed to be breathing heavily. Maybe he’d pushed himself too hard to get here quickly.
“Here, sit down for a minute. You look winded,” CuteGuy said, pointing him to the couch. “Let me get you something to drink.” He went straight for the cupboard to the right of the stove, where Scar kept the glasses.
HotGuy sat down heavily, making a rasping noise in the back of his throat.
Better hurry with that water, Grian thought.Or: Mumbo is out of town, Grian's apartment is being remodeled, and CuteGuy needs a safe place to preen his wings. Suddenly, HotGuy finds himself somewhere much too familiar.

Summary
Grian got the call that they’d found Scar at 3am.
He hadn’t been sleeping, of course - he hadn’t really slept in weeks at that point, not since Scar had been taken. How was he supposed to, when his husband, the love of his life wasn’t in his rightful place beside him in bed? How was he supposed to rest when his dreams were full of the terrified expression on his lover’s face as he’d sat, bound, in that horrible, rickety chair in some dim basement? How was he supposed to live with himself knowing that Scar was out there, being tortured and held against his will because of Grian, and he was doing nothing to find him?

Summary
Jimmy is a wanderer trying to find his place to belong. Used to taking care of himself and not being able to count on others he decides to spend the night in a village that he felt was off. Turns out the villagers figured they could use the wander to solve their monster problem.
Tango is a fire spirit traveling the world and filling his days with distractions so he doesn't have to think about how lonely he is. He has friends and family he can visit with but longs for a companion that can accept both sides of his nature. His dating attempts had always ended in heartbreak however so for now he had sworn off even trying.
When the two of them meet sparks fly but the challenge is that Tango can understand and somewhat write Jimmy's language but can't speak it. Jimmy can't understand Tango's language at all.

“… What was that?” Gem stared at him like she had seen a ghost. Her jaw might as well have been touching the cobblestone and her eyes looked about to bulge out of her skull. She had turned about 5 shades whiter.
“Oh, it's Scar’s newest bit,” Grian answered casually. It was definitely nothing that warranted that sort of reaction, didn't even make top 5 of craziest things Scar had done. Maybe not even top 10. He flattened the shopping district overnight just a few weeks ago.
“His newest bit…” Gem shook her head, recomposing herself. “Can you please explain what exactly is the bit?” Before Grian could reply, she added: “From the very beginning, with as many details as possible. What is wrong with you two?”(or: Scar rehearses to get the best love confession)
