Ynarana Mekrath the low born dark elf "Gwendil" (lesbian) moved from the city of Clar Karond to a quiet plantation to escape deadly homophobic persecution and to join a small secret dark elf lesbian community, desiring a quiet life with her fellow lesbians in safety and peace without being beheaded for being a homosexual. But then everything changed when a deadly vampire came to stalk her quiet plantation. (Set in 6th edition dark elves before Games Workshop ruined Warhammer fantasy with the destructive lore retconning in 7th edition followed by complete destruction in that 8th edition age of sigmar crap).
One of the weirdest queer stories I have ever written, set in a deeply sexist and homophobic medieval society of wicked slave owners. A stark view of dark elf society through the eyes of lesbian dark elf characters of very low birth and income, trying to navigate their horrifying society without getting their heads cut off through a mixture of cunning, lies, secrecy, cruelty, prostituting themselves and, (when necessary), getting married to men they hate just to survive.
Probably the only time I have ever actually felt sorry for any dark elf characters, homophobia sucks even for wicked evil dark elf lesbians.

I have always been fascinated by the rarely seen "normal lives" of civilians and "normal people" in the 40k universe. This time I am using completely new characters and exploring the lives of Dark Eldar civilians living in the endless slums of an utterly unimportant district of Low Commorragh. As two bit Kabals that no one has ever heard of fight never ending turf wars over their mostly worthless surrounding neighbourhoods, the Dark Eldar civilians (AKA slaves) live shitty but surprisingly interesting lives.
