Summary
Isn’t it weird, Lena thinks bitterly, how the odds keep on stacking against her?
She never asked to be a Luthor. She isn’t even a real one in the first place. And yet, here she is, dragged by the arms through cold, silent corridors, surrounded by a dozen guards in their polished armor. She is bound, bruised and dirty, escorted to be judged for crimes her brother committed. Lena chuckles derisively. Not Luthor enough in her family’s eyes but enough to be punished in their stead by everyone else.

--“What’s going on? Where’s Alex?” Kara demanded before their feet even touched the floor. She let go of Maggie and strode forward. Jonn and Winn turned, but before either could speak, the mainframe screen switched on.
“Alex,” Maggie breathed. Her knees felt weak and her head felt heavy and disconnected from her body like a bowling ball on a neck made of laffey taffey.
The collective silence was deafening, for on the screen was Alex. Alex in chains.--

Summary
Alex’s tally did not count every day since Maggie and Kara’s departure. They left often, after all: it was their role to bring materials here, to the Deo Haven, from the mainland, and to deliver supplies produced here on the Haven to the crumbling mainland cities that needed them.
Alex only began the tally when it became clear that their absence was extending beyond the usual. Normally, they’d be gone five days, seven. Fourteen, twenty, if something went wrong. But boats came and went, carrying runners and builders and laborers and tacticians of all kinds, and none of them brought Maggie back to her. People would leave, and return, and leave, and return again, mission after mission, and none of them came with Kara.
Sanvers is the primary ship here. Supercorp is secondary but significant.

Summary
Water fell in an even, rhythmic pattern, echoing across cobblestones. A shallow puddle gathered in the low corner of a damp dungeon. Chill seeped from the cracks in the walls and floor.
Chains clinked gently across stone, and an occasional draw of haggard breath pushed through the silence. A woman was on her feet, barely, knees bent and head hanging, hands manacled above her head. She was gripping and releasing the chains in time to the drips, trying to keep blood flowing through her aching arms and shoulders. She inhaled and exhaled slowly, dry tongue occasionally darting out onto dry lips. Blonde hair hung down, framing her face, sticking to her neck.
Kara Zor-El, princess of Krypton, was a prisoner – and she was scheduled to become a martyr.
