“You should just move in,” Eddie said one night. They were already laying in bed, Buck’s face half-buried in his pillow.
“Where would I sleep, Eddie,” Buck deadpanned, sleep heavy in his voice.
“Here,” Eddie said, not entirely sure how Buck missed that part. “The same place you’ve been sleeping.”
Bobby raised an eyebrow when Buck updated his address on all of the necessary paperwork, but Eddie wasn’t entirely sure what the big deal was.

Buck and Eddie had always been unconventional. Neither of them gave it much thought – they were just them. Buck and Eddie – partners, best friends, co-parents – just as entangled in each other’s lives as any actual couple in the 118.

Summary
After his breakup, Buck decides that what he really needs is to put himself out there and start dating again and just have fun. No pressure, no expectations. Just enjoy himself and enjoy the company of his best friend, who he knows is the person he can never screw up with.
Eddie is trying to embrace his new guilt-free, joy-seeking self. With Christopher back from Texas, and Buck newly single, Eddie feels like he was everything he needs to be happy. Even if Buck insists he should try to date again. The thing is, there is nothing Eddie can think that will give him less joy than meeting and dating new women.
But Buck is relentless, though, and when he, inadvertently, invites Eddie into a gay bar, the two friends find themselves in a messy situation. A very messy situation that could change the nature and course of their relationship.

Summary
Eddie opening the door, casual and filled with a type of swagger Buck didn’t understand. Pantsless. Thighs on display. Flushed and sweaty in his thin button up.
Buck isn’t sure why the memory of that image makes his throat go tight. It didn’t faze him all that much at the time because he had other things on his mind and was sad enough that a true act of divinity probably wouldn’t have gotten a reaction out of him. But now–
Well, now Buck looks at Eddie. Bare legs and a hint of his thighs. That dark mark on the back of his right leg peeking out from the hem of his shorts. Hair mussed and a little damp, curling behind his ears.
The image of the Eddie in front of him now and the Eddie in front of him last night flicker back and forth on top of each other like some kind of montage or old movie reel.
And Buck feels…pink. Caught. Stomach all fizzy and turning.
or, after getting dumped by tommy and going to eddie's, buck wakes up the next morning only to be pummeled by his hangover and his attraction to eddie

Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Why is that even a question? Of course Buck would go. Christopher is basically his son, why wouldn’t he? As much as he doesn’t like to admit it, Buck loves both of the Diaz boys with his all of his heart. Maybe even a tad bit more.

Maybe it’s a lifetime of carefully guarding himself, maybe it’s a disdain for this whole idea, or maybe it’s just the fact that he’s been holding back with Buck, holding back with Bobby, holding back with his parents. Bottle all of that up and something has to give. “Buddy, I don’t think God’s been close to me in years. If he ever was.”
The priest doesn’t react. Just calmly asks, “Let me phrase it like this, then: what do you need to say out loud? Maybe something you’ve never said before.”
And this. This is what Eddie had been driving at. What might actually bring him peace instead of unsettling memories that drip cold down his spine.
