Summary
Logan’s aware of his reputation; a man of few words and fewer emotions: a killer, a weapon. Ruthless, drunk, and mean.
It’s hard for him to think that he needs to shake this reputation, because so much of it is just so true. He is a killer, he is a weapon, and while he’s trying hard to break the cycle, a lot of the time, he is a drunk.
The one thing that’s wrong though?
Logan feels. So much. He feels all the time. Wishes desperately that he could stop feeling. After all, why would someone with no emotions need to drink until they fell down?
But the world - well, his world - saw him as some pathetic nothing, and it’s hard to shake a reputation that you feel is keeping you safe. Besides, there was never anyone around who cared enough to want to see Logan for who he truly was. There was no one left worth burdening his emotions with.
Until.

In which Logan and Wade are incredibly domestic and everyone but them can see it. And then the whole thing comes to a head in the final scene of the movie, which I've changed obviously.

It’s a realization that makes his knees feel slightly weak, locking with adrenaline to keep himself standing at all. He doesn’t want Wade to die—he’s lost so many already, too many people who dared to get even a little close to him—he’s tired of the damn pattern. He doesn’t know if he could bear it, if he’d survive just one more voice echoing in his skull.
