Summary
Until Abbacchio woke up. And he woke up hard. His chest hurt, his head hurt, his very being hurt, and he could hear those damned waves. Waves, nothing like the ones backdropping his little slice of heaven. No, these waves were angry, crashing against the sand and stone wall with a vengeance that reminded Abbacchio of those old myths that featured some angry sea god or another. Then came the voices, children screaming about their ball game, parents complaining about the sun or some shit, girls cackling and gossiping about some new boy one of them had started dating.
None of these were sounds he’d come to associate with his haven.

Dark Cacao knew he was a hypocrite. He was the paragon of a hypocrite. Every day, every patrol, he'd told his troops to pair up or go in groups to avoid getting lost in the snow.

Summary
So, all he was left with was a coconut—cracked in half for the water, courtesy of his claws—a lawn chair that barely held his weight, and industrial-grade sunglasses that Chuck had lying around for some reason or another. Life was good, even if those kids he was supposed to be watching had started screaming at each other for one reason or another. Logan grumbled and settled further into his chair, taking a sip from his coconut and resting his head in his hand.
Wait, the kids were screaming.

Summary
Lanceboard usually wasn’t this difficult for Gale. He was an expert at the game, with skills far surpassing Astarion’s. He was too good for Astarion, enough that it just wasn’t fun for either of them unless Gale was handicapped in some way. And, it wasn’t that Astarion was too stupid for the game, but rather Gale was too intelligent. Even blindfolded, his memory never failed him as he remembered each piece’s location and every move made throughout the game. Astarion had proposed another handicap: a distraction during the game. Many distractions during the game, actually. As if Astarion himself wasn’t distraction enough.

Summary
“I didn’t take a wrong turning and walk into a sitcom sketch about bureaucracy, did I?”
Her new supervisor - who had stiffly introduced himself as Jonathan Sims - allowed a small shift in his dour expression, which she only cautiously diagnosed as amusement. It was hard to tell, what with his general air of ‘neat’, ‘professional’ and ‘severe’ (with just a slight, not-quite-hidden, undertone of ‘help!’).
“Actually you took a correct turning and walked into a sitcom sketch about bureaucracy. Welcome to Central Classification.”
