“I don’t want to talk to you,” Kageyama snapped, turning his body away as if to close off any further communications and prove his point.
Oikawa clicked his tongue. “That’s too bad.”
“Why are you even here? You never wanted to be anywhere near me before.”
Sighing away a multitude of emotions, Oikawa flicked the back of Kageyama’s head, ignoring the boy’s grumbled curse lest he actually feel guilty. He had a staircase to repent for, a sore head could barely be considered a step.
“You’re an idiot.”
“Hah?” Kageyama peered upwards, one hand behind his head still rubbing over the sore patch.
“Do you see anyone else coming to look for you? No, so you’re stuck with me. I’ll accept that thank you now.”
Or: Oikawa watches that game and goes to find Kageyama afterwards. Their relationship has always been historically rigid, but maybe a murky corridor, a little honesty and a white and turquoise jacket can pave the way for something… else.

Summary
Okay so maybe Yamaguchi was right, there was a thing between them, but that still didn’t change the fact that no one had dared to make a move. As of now, the only thing between him and them was purely platonic.
So Tobio really has no idea why he’s being woken up to his ringing phone at two in the morning and a loud “We should go on a road trip,” from Oikawa. Iwaizumi’s grumblings can be heard in the background.
He promptly hangs up.
Or: A road trip au starring lots of pining, an oblivious Kageyama, Oikawa’s camera from hell, Iwaizumi’s shitty taste in music and a stolen (not so stolen) car.

Upon arriving at the train station of death, an impure soul is granted a second chance at life against his will. Reincarnating into the body of Kageyama Tobio, a 15-year-old boy who recently committed suicide. Tobio's soul will depart at death and the soul needs to slip in to replace it. If the soul's reformation succeeds, he’ll reenter the cycle of rebirth and regain the right to be reborn. He will have three months to accomplish this task.
“Even though you had enough of life,” the soul whispered into the void of the room, “you were still afraid to hurt your hands, Tobio.”
Afraid of giving himself a scar, if he survived.
He touched his pulse and grasped life and couldn’t help but pity Kageyama Tobio.
"You wanted to die and now I’m here making you live again," he whispered into the night.

“Why ask me, again?” He can’t imagine the young man has any illusion towards Oikawa’s helpfulness, with the way he had treated Tobio when they were in school. Oikawa somewhat regrets this right now, but not enough to make his attitude more conciliatory.
“I saw your Instagram profile,” Tobio replies, then shuts up as if Oikawa is supposed to know what that means.
Kageyama is having a bit of a crisis and for the first time in the history of humanity Oikawa actually wants to help him.
