After Sukuna forced a merge with Yuuji in order to keep him alive after a suicide attempt, Yuuji was left behind with Sukuna's powers in him as well as 15 fingers worth of cursed energy. With a broken soul, losing Sukuna and cracks in his relationship with Satoru, it put Yuuji in a hollow spot that echoed the loneliness after being treated like the most special person for months, from both Sukuna and Satoru. However, with the knowledge of what Kenjaku could do, he figured it's worth a bargain with the brain to satiate his selfish desires even if it's paid in blood.

“Like weird things that you can’t explain.” At Yuji’s blank look, the guy sighed and grabbed the tissues, dabbing at the dripping mess on his shirt. “Suspicious people lurking around, maybe.”
Like you? Yuji bit his tongue before he could blurt that out, but now that he thought about it, he really hadn’t seen the guy before. He would have remembered that spiky, bristling hair for sure. “No, I don’t think so. Say, what do you study? I don’t think I’ve seen you on campus before.”
The guy blinked once, then looked away hastily.

“I was always taught you shouldn’t accept food from strangers,” Megumi told him, his voice flat, doing his best to appear disinterested. It was also a lie - if anything, he was sure Gojou would’ve encouraged him to get into the back of any van for candy as a child.
Megumi’s dull tone did nothing to sway the boy’s pleasant demeanor, his honeyed smile still dripping from his lips and onto his words. He held out his free hand, fingers opened and splayed. “Yuuji Itadori! It’s nice to meet you…” His words trailed off, expectedly waiting a response.
Something must have possessed Megumi. He suddenly felt as though he was watching himself from an outside perspective as he leaned forward, cold hands wrapping around Itadori’s rough and warm hands. “Megumi Fushiguro,” he replied, forcing his voice not to shake. The hospital was definitely fucking with his head.
