Summary
And for a moment, something lingered. They didn’t recognize each other.
Not really.
Not in the way people expect recognition to happen. No sudden pause, no certainty, no clear memory snapping into place.
Just a feeling.
Something faint yet familiar.
They met only once. A fleeting moment that lingered longer that it should have. A glance, a conversation, a connection that never had the chance to grow. Time and circumstances pulled them apart before anything could begin, turning it into a quiet echo. But when fate brings them together again. That single moment becomes everything they never got to have. Some kind of second chance they can't ignore.

Summary
"Mel," he repeated, sturdier this time. "You're…. you're killing me here."
"How so?" she asked automatically, voice husky and sincere. Frank laughed under his breath.
"Mel," was all he could say again, his voice dropping another octave. The skin behind her ears prickled at the pleading tone in his words. "Please."
She swallowed roughly, her fingers stilling against his hot skin. Another step too far. Another tread past plausible deniability. But she deserved nice things. They both did.
In which Langdon's offer to fix Mel's leaky sink turns into a revelation of tattoos and one relationship redefining moment

.
.
.
In the controlled chaos of the ER, Melissa King and Frank Langdon are used to managing the unmanageable: patients, pressure, loss. What they’re less equipped for are the quiet moments in between: unanswered calls, shared grief, late-night stairwell conversations, and the slow realization that some things can’t stay unspoken forever. Told across a series of snapshots...Bookmarked by Maribibi

Summary
Her mind traced back to him as she cut the line from the second suture. He hovered right behind her, observing her work; if she paused for moment and listened close, she could nearly hear the drum of his heart; the slow settling pace of his steady breathing.
Her own heart seemed to try and claw its way out of her chest. She suddenly had to focus just to be able to breathe.
And then a little prick — right through her blue, latex glove.
Shit.
There, a droplet of blood welled.
“Langdon,” was all that she said, and he was in action. She had all too clearly noticed the tremble in her own voice; the way in the flash of any moment of panic, his name rolled off of her tongue with ease.
