Kamille is set on finding out what is going on, so she can save her best friend, Julia from her deadly contract. Her next stop is a visit to a certain Ak'hon she knows Julia visits often, where she uncovers some of what happened between them. In the mist of it, she talked about Tonny, which led her to Julia's time limit, which unbeknownst to her, apparently wasn't common knowledge to the Ak'hon.

Tomorrow is Kamille's birthday
which is also the one year anniversary,
of Julia's death.
Julia's mind was racing. The contract said a one year extension to her life, but it never said how she would die. Would she just not wake up tomorrow? Or would it be painful? Questions made her head buzz into static, no longer being able to form a clear image in her mind. She was rocking back and forth on the edge of her bed, thankful that everyone went to the bonfire except her, no one needed to see her sanity tearing at the seems.
But in the midst of this breakdown, a certain someone comes to her mind..
someone who happened to be named Sahed

No longer did they need to speak; everything they wanted to say was communicated through their kiss."

Stan jerks away, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “I’m not going to be second-best,” he growls, eyes dark. There’s a certain angry defiance in Stan that’s enrapturing, white-hot like wildfire. “I know I’m not as good as him, but I can’t—” His chest heaves. “I won’t do that to myself.”
Fiddleford reaches up, tracing the curve of his cheekbone. And it only takes his touch for Stan to fall apart again, to tremble like a newborn calf.

Sahed welcomes her with a victorious smile as soon as she knocks on his door and tells him that she has completed her mission, then he takes her by the arm, dragging her inside the room. Julia can't help but blush at that gesture. She still can't understand why Sahed causes certain reactions whithin her even though she tries her hardest to suppress them.
Kamille likes him.
He is an Ah'kon.
