Richie doesn't know how to play baseball, but the best on the team, Eddie Kaspbrak, takes a strong interest in him.
Even though most of The Losers are not interested in having a noob join their team, they do need another player.

Summary
Eddie Kaspbrak is definitely nervous to start his senior year at Derry Academy-- it's his first private school, and he doesn't know anybody. His incredibly outgoing roommate, Richie Tozier, makes it bearable, and he admittedly fell for him quickly. But Richie can't know that; it's 1993, for God's sake, and he's not trying to get himself killed.
Richie is nothing but a risk taker, so maybe he can try to live a little too.
Partially inspired by the film Dead Poets Society (1989).
