Could you really call your widowed father-in-law a roommate? No matter what the proper nomenclature was, it sucked. It was way too reminiscent of their early days of dating, when Patrick lived with Ray. Clint, too, was chatty, eager to please and worst of all, lonely, and therefore always around, always wanting to talk.
David knew it must be awful, losing your spouse and best friend of over 50 years. He’d already decided that he was simply going to die before Patrick, there was no way he’d survive losing him. He was incredibly sympathetic for Clint, which is why he’d agreed to have him move to Schitt’s Creek, when it became clear he couldn’t live on his own.
But he hadn’t realized how much would change when Clint moved in.

The Wingmen are back for their first tour since 2012, and it’s probably your last chance to see iHeartRadio’s Throwback Song of the Year, “I’m Not Here (For Your Sister)” performed live. With the latest news about Sebastien Raine’s sudden departure from the once popular boy band, you might even be able to find a ticket to the sold-out shows, as long as you don’t mind that they’ve replaced Seb with some guy you’ve never heard of. (His name is Patrick Brewer, he plays guitar, and you really won’t mind, trust us). As if that wasn’t enough, rumors are also flying that Patrick may be taking over Sebastien’s place in the heart of the Wingmen’s most fashionable member, David Rose, after Wingnuts circulated photos of them sharing a steamy embrace. We’re still not convinced it’s love, but stay tuned for all the tour (and romance) updates.

Summary
Patrick doesn’t respond correctly - because Patrick has never once responded correctly to David being horrible. He just takes another sip of tea, and fucking smiles again.
“What?” David snaps.
“Nothing, I just-”
He stops, mouth still open, sound still somewhere in his throat. Then he laughs again. It’s quieter this time, more to himself, like he’s surprised himself with it. It’s infuriating, and it’s adorable, and David doesn’t get it.Or, five times Patrick almost said "I love you", and one time David said it first.
