In a not so small town called Zaun, there’s a coffee shop that everyone knows. The Last Drop has been around for years and the owner is well known for his amazing coffee. Sometimes, after the shop is closed, one can see the lights are still on inside. If you take a peek, you’ll see the owner talking to a man with faint scars on his face wearing hospital scrubs. And while they don’t go around advertising it, everyone in town knows they’re pretty much married.

Summary
“Slapping me?” Vander slurred, and the grip on Silco’s hair tightened, mean enough that his scalp burned. It felt good. Silco struggled against him, pushed against his shoulder. “Like I’m some kind of dog?”
“A dog would be better behaved,” Silco shot back, and that was what earned him the sock in the jaw that sent stars scattering across his vision and blood filling his mouth. He choked on it, coughed, splattering Vander’s face with flecks of spit and blood. “Case in point.”
