“Here’s Noah with one of the stray cats he picked up. Believe it or not, we had a whole zoo back on his island. And here’s Masaru — that was one of my crew members — tryin’ out karaoke. Highkey sucked at it. This one’s me with the bartender of the karaoke bar. Pretty funny dude. And here’s Jason with a terrible sunburn—”
“Wait, hold on,” Daigo interjected, his mouth suddenly feeling dry, “go back to the previous photo.”
That karaoke bartender had looked familiar, and not in a good way.

Summary
The tattoo didn’t hurt, but he flinched anyway when Daigo laid his fingers over the center of his spine. There, he traced a line of red fire down along the Kirin in flight. “It suits you very well. Kirins are said to follow powerful rulers, right? Though… our irezumi are more metaphorical ideals than hard truths. I could stand to be a stronger ruler, and you a better follower.”
After failing to follow his Chairman's commands, Mine takes a tense visit to an onsen to celebrate his finished tattoo. Of course, what hangs in the air is the expectation of punishment--not appraisal. After so long testing his limits to see who would push back, Daigo takes Mine by the reins.

Summary
To Daigo, Yoshitaka Mine should have been any other person to care for amongst the sea of thousands of Tojo Clan members. That expectation wouldn’t have diminished his importance, yet with so many lives to care for and look after, it wouldn't be hard to imagine keeping tabs on each individual person would be arduous, even for a man who cared so deeply as Daigo honestly did.
Yet in but a few short months, Mine had proved himself more than worthy of just being another member in the Tojo Clan: of course, every member had sworn their allegiance to Daigo when they initially joined, yet it was Mine who seemed to earnestly honor that sentimentality. Everything he did and everything he said screamed devotion, sometimes to a frightening extent.
Truly, that’s where the seed of Daigo’s affections began. Ensuring the chairman’s safety and the Tojo Clan's success was the bare minimum, yet how meticulous Mine had been about it all had felt more personal than out of obligation. In that, it was impossible for Daigo to ignore Mine’s care- nor could he ignore how the thought of it made his chest feel light.

Daigo knew Yoshitaka Mine for a plethora of things, his punctuality and efficiency being just a few. Yet apparently even he seemed to struggle having one-on-one meetings with his chairman- when the goals of such 'meetings' were in pursuits of debauchery, anyhow.

Summary
One's an incident and two's a coincidence- but Daigo wasn't too much of a fan of having to coincidentally running into Mine the first time, and he certainly wasn't happy to see him again the second.
What's more, they were seemingly doomed to only ever run into each other on overcrowded subway rides, barely given enough wiggle room to breathe this time. Though perhaps this recent meeting wouldn't go as sourly as they imagined.

Summary
Since his release from prison and isolation from the Tojo Clan, Daigo's life had been reduced to nothing but a continuous cycle of gratuitous partying and late-night train rides home, if only to prepare himself to restart the routine. A simple schedule- one that was impossible to shake up, really.
But one overcrowded train, a sleepy alcoholic, and an office worker- both just trying to get home, would, at the very least, give him an interesting memory to hold onto.

Summary
When it came to resolving conflicts within the Tojo, Mine and Daigo were pressed to see eye-to-eye with one another, their beliefs proving to be at odds on occasion. As much as Daigo appreciated- and at times needed- Mine's input, he was ultimately the one in charge, and if Mine wasn't able to comprehend his methods, then Daigo was more than happy to enlighten him.

Dedue pressed a fist to his heart, and stared skyward. “Goddess of Fódlan, protect your son,” he said, not bothering to hide the bitter challenge in his voice. “Or we will all suffer for your negligence.”
Dedue insists on caring for Dimitri after the battle at Gronder Field — for his own peace of mind, as well as Dimitri's wellbeing.
