Summary
Steve and Bucky have only ever seen fire lizards the size of housecats. Neither of them have any experience with fully sized dragons. Then they join the army.
When Steve and Peggy stage their daring rescue at Azzano, Bucky's not the only one they leave with. The clutch of dragon eggs hatch not long after. Being Chosen by a dragon is a rare privilege. To fly in a Wing with a Gold is even rarer. Rarest of all, Bucky thinks, is to fly alongside such a perfectly matched set of misfits.
Despite being at war, life is better than it's ever been for Steve and Bucky. The Howling Commandos have Hydra running scared. But Schmidt and his dragon, Red Skull, lurk just around the corner and tragedy waits in the wings.

Warning: This is me ruining the ending of Firewatch. As a writer, I have to say this, because the end of Firewatch is perfect in its ambiguity. Delilah is never meant to be anything more than a representation of the fact you can’t run away from your problems, and after the initial shock of the ending I was actually really pleased with that fact. However, I am a romantic sap, and I can’t leave it there. This is for me and for anyone else who just can’t let it go, despite knowing we really should.
